Description:

Queens is almost a hole in the wall on Church Street. Walking along Church Street you are most likely to miss Queens unless you know exactly where it is. If you are standing in front of the prominent Ruby Tuesday with Ruby Tuesday at your back then Queens is diagonally on your right.

It is quite small with a seating of about 35 odd people. There is usually a waiting time of 15 minutes or more unless you go very early in the evening.

I went one such early evening while waiting for a friend. I had been referred here by many people but never ended up paying a visit.

The menu had mainly Punjabi dishes. I noticed then that the crowd was also predominantly North Indian.

Since I didn't have much time I ordered a Chicken Roll. The waiter asked me if I wanted it "Dry" or Gravy". Pondering how they could have a roll with gravy I replied "Gravy".

What arrived what a normal unimpressive Chicken Roll. But one bite and I went "WOW". It was like an explosion of spices (and I don't mean Chilli) in my mouth. I repeat it wasn't spicy as in "hot" but that the gravy inside just tasted fabulous.

I pondered ordering another dish but didn't have the time to.

I am definitely going back here soon!
