Mexican
The Little Italy
Submitted by anandkr on Sun, 13/01/2008 - 20:52. Bangalore | Indiranagar | Restaurant | Italian | MexicanBeen here few times...but for some reason writing the review only now. I went there today and i got a feeling that they are getting jaded. All their items in the menu seems to be a concoction of veggies, olive oil and different types of cheeses. So you need to be careful about what you want if you dont want your food to be killed with overdose of Cheese. By the way they also have some mexican on the menu.
We had a Crostini Platter and Avocado salad for starters. The platter was good and the salad could do with less tomato on it.
Wife decided to skip the main course and i ordered myself a Risotto with some Porcini mushrooms. I asked the steward to customize the dish but without checking with the Chef he said no and started explaining why the dish cannot be cooked like what i wanted. After i insisted he went and checked and the Chef was more than ready to do that.
One thing that i noted is lot of people around us had the look on their face that said "the dish doesnt look like what i had visualized based on what i read". May be the waiters can start becoming knowledgeable about the dishes and explain to the customers. If i want to rank the Italian restaurants in the city.. i would rank it 3rd behind Italia, Fiorano (in the order). But the place is quite popular. They have 3 sections...1) Enclosed non - smoking area 2) Lounge - smoking 3) Al Fresco
Wallet Factor : Approx 800 to 900 bucks per person including drinks for a 3 course meal.

Tangy Tamarind
Submitted by Anaggh on Sat, 15/09/2007 - 18:03. Mumbai | Khar | Restaurant | Continental | Indian | Mexican | AffordableA quiet place on the 2nd floor with nice round tables that are not occupied most of the evenings. Visited it a couple of times. They have good crisp nachos & garlic bread with cheese. Pasta was decent but can be improved upon. However the one in white sauce was much better. The drinks OK priced but no accompaniments so you have to order.
The mughlai/indian mini meal is sufficient for 1 person since it comes with parathas.
All in all a convenient place to go with a couple of business associates or a loved one, where the idea is to spend time & not gorge.
The service is good & they let you drink in peace if you tell them.
Cafe Masala
Submitted by anandkr on Wed, 05/09/2007 - 10:42. Bangalore | Brigade Road | Restaurant | Italian | Mexican | Punjabi | Part of a chainThis is part of the chain of restaurants by BJN Group (Samarkhand, Hypnos, Sahib Sind Sultan etc).
First the ambience
- The lighting is too bright for my taste
- Music is too loud
- Too many staff hovering around. On top it they have open kitchens.. so the staff inside the kitchen add to the crowd.
- Staff has a very funny green colored uniform
Now coming to food
- I had a cocktail made out of Vodka. I hate white sugar in cocktails. The best is cane sugar.
- Ordered Jalapeno bites... too hard & the Jalapeno tasted like Capsicum.
- I ordered Pasta in tomato sauce. Too much Garlic & on the salty side. These days i am very low on salt and prefer to get the natural taste of the food. Pizza hut's Pasta tastes better.
- Wife ordered Pudina roti (Where was the Pudina???) and Veg Jalfreizi. Strictly Ok.
Overall was disappointed as i had started having high expectations of any BJN group venture as their restaurants are always of high quality when it comes to food. I gave the feedback & the manager was sincere in telling me that they are looking for feedbacks to improve. They are new.. so my sincere hope is that they improve.
Till then i would advocate this place only if you have a crowd with mixed preferences to eat. If you are focussed on a particular type of cuisine then there are speciality & better options out there in the city.
cheers

Bennigan's Grill and Tavern
Submitted by nehajhingon on Mon, 07/05/2007 - 17:31. Delhi | Elite Restaurant | American | Italian | Mexican | Seafood | Rich and FamousIf you're looking for a nice place to unwind in the evening and of course - if you have much cash to spare, Bennigan's is the place to go to.
The first time I went there, it was because I had never been to a 'Tavern' and the name fascinated me. Great ambience, very prompt service and good portions of food...
If you're there, do try their Daqueries and Martinis (the Death by Chocolate Martini was what brought me back to Bennigan's thrice) The crisp chicken wings are very tasty and so is the chicken platter - grilled to a tangy perfection... I also enjoyed the fetuccini alfredo which was quite delicately laced with a taste of garlic and mushrooms. Quite nice I tell you.
You might come out feeling a big dent in your pocket though... but if it's a once in a while affair... it's worth it!
Rodeo
Submitted by cnb on Mon, 09/10/2006 - 04:25. Delhi | Connaught Place | Pub | MexicanIt has a mexican ambiance and is a nice place to hang out in. I went there twice.
The music is good and the volume is just perfect enough for a conversation. The waiters are great.
The food (Mexican) is great. I had a Nachos Platter.
Photo of half finished platter below.

They have excellent cocktails which are very well priced at 150 rupees each. And Cocktail Pitchers which are for 200 rupees (serves 4).
Best thing. They have Happy Hours till 7:30PM. 50% discount on Beer and Cocktails.

Fine Dine
Submitted by solzaire on Mon, 24/10/2005 - 09:53. Mumbai | Mulund | Bar | Elite Restaurant | Great Bar | Restaurant | Continental | Indian | Italian | Mediterranean | Mexican | Oriental | Thai | Must Visit | Rich and FamousI have a new found respect for vegetarian food. A few more places like this, and the veggies can take over the world. Fine Dine comes from the owners of the famous Rajadhani chain of Gujarati Thalis in Mumbai.
A very sidey name 'Fine Dine', lacking imagination, but the resto-bar does it full justice. It serves vegetarian dishes from around the world and has a great bar to boot as proved by their Long Island Ice Teas. Fine Dine is on the second floor in Nirmal Lifestyles mall, Mulund, above MacD. The ambience is very classy, some oriental food is made in open kitchens, the bar section is presented very well in the middle, and the place seats maybe 60+ people. Next time, I'll take my camera along. It gets very crowded on weekends so be prepared to wait upto an hour. But since it is in a mall, the wait is peaceful.
The food itself is first class. The flavours are good, the presentation is excellent, and portions are large (say 4-5 dishes for 6 people). We started with Mushroom soup, Singapore Steam Boats (wanton-like starter), Gucchi Lasooni (very good), and Long Island Ice Teas. The bar is very good and has a good wine list and cocktail selection priced between 175 to 225. VAT on alcohol is 20%; there is no VAT or tax on the food.
We had Burnt Garlic Risotto, Greek Mousakka, Ceylonese vegetables in coconut milk, Chilman Biryani, Vegetables in Honey Chilli Mustard (oriental), and Lentil Rice. The top of the pick were the Mousakka and the Ceylonese curry. The Biryani and Risotto were good too. The oriental curry was good but probably misplaced in our order. Most of all of this was pretty rich food, not exactly diet friendly. The next visit, we should be trying the extensive Thai/Korean/Malay curries by themselves and another trip must be for the continental, pastas, Mediterranean and Mexican stuff. We had no space for deserts, but I have a hunch they were nice.
Pop Tate's
Submitted by solzaire on Sun, 07/08/2005 - 13:41. Mumbai | Andheri | Malad | Mulund | Bar | Coffee Shop | Restaurant | Snack Joint | American | Continental | MexicanPop Tate's is an American style restaurant in R-Mall. They serves Pizzas, Pastas, some mexican food, burgers, cocktails, beer. All in all a nice place with a lot of choice. The place is surprisingly big despite appearances. They have about 20 tables, slightly close together, but no matter. The place is apt for a bite or drink before the multiplex movie or in between shopping.
The starters and pastas are really good. The pasta is slightly too soft and not crunchy enough, but their sauces and gravies make up. Maybe not gourmet stuff, but value for money - large portion of a good non-veg pasta and garlic bread for 125/-. Cocktails are good. Indicative price is 110 for a Long Island Ice Tea. There is decent college classics or new pop like music blaring away and 3 TVs play music or sports. The ventilation is slightly non-smoker repelling. The service is decent. There is a large yuppie college going crowd in gangs sipping away draught beer which, incidentally, is flat and sad to be avoided even if it is given to you for free.

Have you felt a very appetising effect of a place... This place very much makes you sit and eat to your tummy and heart's fill and leaves an impacting taste!
The location and the outer look isnt that inviting but once in, you get to notice the class of this place.
A wonderful serving style and the variety in cuisine it offers makes it a perfect dine out!
My favourite amongst all i have tried are thai curry and the ice tea.
.
Apart from this fajjita pizza and mexican rice are other delicacies i would recommend.
Even the simplest sandwich makes a special meal.
adding to the whole feel is some graffiti on the walls!
I have heard, Japanese say: you first eat with your eyes, then with your nose and finally with your mouth. I guess i could do all the three here!
Try it and you know how unique it is!
