Abhishek Veg - nr. Mehendaley Garage

| | | | |
Summary: Excellent vegetarian food
Description:

Abhishek is a recent (~1-1.5 yrs.) addition to the group of restaurants' near Nal Stop. Its excellent service, delicious food, and good ambience, has given other restaurants in that area a run for money.

They serve normal North Indian, and Punjabi food, but the taste, and the speed of service is awesome. Try the Methi Malai Kofta, mouth watering. The servings (including the starters) are generous. For a family of four the expected bill comes to around Rs. 500, so I would term this restaurant as "affordable".

The only con I can see is the rush, it is crowded during weekdays too. The weekend waiting can go as high as an hour and half, though they manage to get you a table as fast as possible. The staff is courteous, and the ambience is decent. I would highly recommend it for a casual dinner (except on weekends).

Oh, one thing - there are two Abhishek hotels opposite each other, one of them is a bar (you will be able to spot the difference visually though).

Summary: yana--sizzlers n wok
Description:

some thing called veg ball sizzlers... contained cabbage base pakodas with some Yuck chinese sauces..which destroyed our bellies.

later we ordered something called hot nut fudge sundae which turned out to be 3 scoops of icecrems with hot sauce of chocs put on it...really disappointing with old icecreammm and we had discussion at the cash counter..about the fudge and hot what we expected.

another request which i do they are quite costly on parking alos 20bucks for a car and 10 for a bike.
the restaurant fellows should discount that amount it will be welcome..

Kobe Sizzlers

| | | |
Summary: Sizzling Sizzlers, Desserts & Service!
Description:

Of all the Kobe chain of sizzler restaurants, the Andheri west branch is my favourite...
Start with the chicken or veg. cocktail and move on to either sizzlers or the great sandwiches, burgers/pizza..
A word of warning - the pizza's are not the mozarella cheese ones but the ones you get at the south indian restaurants (oddly, i prefer these to the Italian ones!).
The ice-tea is great too. End your meal with sizzling brownie with ice-cream & hot choc sauce served on a sizzler platter...
Pricing is average. Meal portions - generous. Service - Great.
And the best part, no huge queue and wait time for tables like Yoko Sizzlers!

Fuddruckers

Summary: BBQ Chicken Steak, Brownie & Apple Pie
Description:

The Chocolate Milk Shake was really cool stuff...but with a price of Qrs 10.

The BBQ Chicken Steak is superb with properly cooked in BBQ sauce which is a bit sweet served with Fudd Fries, Sweet corn, Garlic Bread with Tortilla sauce and Onion rings. This comes for a price of Qrs 45 comfortable for 2 persons to munch on...In addition to this, u have unlimited quantities of Salads from the Salad Bar.

For the Desserts we had Chocolate Brownie and Apple Pie.
One thing, you should never miss is Brownie. You have to taste it for urself to appreciate it.

Apple Pie with ice cream was a decent choice too but I definitely prefer the first one to be more tastier and Yummy!

Kiva Lounge

| | | | | | |
Summary: the place rocks!
Description:

Situated at Range Hills Road,Ashok Nagar (area behind E-square) the Kiva lounge welcomes you with a warm yellow building. Decent amount of parking and valet to boot, ensures there is no minor irritant to ruin the appetite.

A mediterranean ambience with cosy seating and warm interiors makes Kiva quite a hotspot for the young and old alike, offering a casual and contemporary environ to just lounge.

A live DJ playing an excellent mix of the old and young, is the perfect complement to the well-cooked and equally well-served food and drinks.

For all those wanting a good place to chill out, but don't want to travel as far as Koregaon Park, Kiva is a good option to hang out. The service is prompt and the food appeals to all palates! What is most interesting about this place that it actually attracts a diverse clientele and despite the place not being open or large, one does not feel suffocated. There is enough privacy too between seats.

Would rate the place at 10/10 overall.

La Casa

| | | | | | |
Summary: Decent continental & Italian food in Jayanagar
Description:

Where do these guys get their beer from? Their draught beer hits you like a hard liquor.... but it is good. No hangover nothing. Otherwise, you get a mix of Italian, Continental, Indian & Chinese food. Food is generally decent. Their sizzlers are good.

One of the seemingly good place to chill out in & around Jayanagar area. Its is a semi open place so these days it gets really cold here. Frequented by the college crowd in & around this area.

Go there if you are around Jayanagar and looking for a decent place to chill out with your friends over a mug of beer that does not loot your wallet.

Sundance

| | | |
Summary: Sizzler joint in town which used to be very good earlier but has now gone down in quality
Description:

There was a time when Sundance could hold it's own and in some dishes come up tops against all the then popular Sizzler joints like Kobe's (townside) and Yoko's (Khar).

But I visted it recently after a gap and had the worst experience ever at a place which was once known for it's food.

The Chicken Sizzler it's signature dish came in a sauce which couldn't be qualified as anything except a thin tasteless soup.

A couple of friends had a burger and a stuffed chicken dish which were just average.

Sundance has rapidly gone down in quality while it's competitors have expanded all over Mumbai.

Right now it is more of a draft beer serving joint with average food. That itself explains a lot because earlier they did not serve alcohol at all at Sundance. Then they started serving beer and finally all sorts of liqour and all the time the food quality kept degrading.

Even though I had a soft corner for this place I would suggest you go to either Yoko's at Fort or Kobe's at Nana Chowk if you are in town even though I don't think very highly of them.

Else wait for Pop Tate's to open Colaba side. That is by far the best choice for sizzlers now. Excellent meat, delicious mashed potato, you can customize almost everything other than the meat in your Sizzler -- Dont like veggies? Just get french fries instead .. else more rice and less of everything else.

The suburbs win the Sizzler Stakes.

Miller's 46

| | | | |
Summary: A steak house; Great vegatarian food too
Description:

Located on Miller's road as the name suggests, Miller's 46 is primarily a steak house offering a variety of incredible food. The place has a slight Texan touch, especially with the bar menu made in the form of a cowboy's hat.
Miller's offers some really nice appetizers to start with. The best thing though is a basket of assorted breads and garlic flavoured butter that is served on the house.
One has a wide variety of dishes to choose from the non-vegetarian menu, and since the food is excellent one can afford to experiment with the order. The chicken and cheese steak is particularly appreciated by my non-vegetarian friends. The vegetarians have no reason to fret though. True, Miller's has very few vegetarian dishes, but they are all excellent. There are the vegetarian steaks, which of course are awesome. The spinach ravioli and the lasagna are brilliant too. One can also order the spinach and mushroom au-gratin which, though not listed on the menu, is a great pick.
The desserts are quite delicious too: the blueberry cheesecake is simply superb.
Overall, Miller's is a great place with good ambiance and excellent food.

The Grill

| | | | | | |
Summary: Sizzler joint in Thane and Mulund (Nirmal Lifestyles)
Description:

The Grill is a decent enough sizzler joint in Thane and Mulund. The Mulund branch plays excellent music which would put some of the rock pubs to shame. Hopefully our evening wasn't a one off on the music front. The sizzlers themselves are decent and priced at about 200. These guys only serve chicken and mutton sizzlers. The ambience and decor is good, but they have made a phenomenal blunder in ventilation. The place is sealed shut in a sizzler joint which leads to a lot of smoke sometimes.

Good food apart - we are pissed off at the shady business policy these guys seem to have. They take cash only, no cards. That in itself is ok. The bill looks very shady and is hand written, not printed on a computer. The menu says, 'prices exclusive of all taxes', and no taxes are added in the bill. All these things combined, the impression we were left with was that the owner pockets all the money and probably doesn't pay his taxes to the government. Decent food apart - we are probably not going there again.

Chingari - Zara Hatke

| | | | | |
Summary: Rustic ambience.. serves standard food with great taste.....
Description: Menu: What you get at any upmarket restaurant in pune...starters , indian veg / non veg , combined with chinese starters and main course. No alcohol served (dont have permit!), standard mocktails. The pluses : Ambience is very earthy but should be dimly lit up in the night ( havent been there after dusk!).. ,Taste is classy and refined .. There are three levels of seating here. Roadside chair/table combo , a little higher wrought iron chairs and tables and the low level (diwan style) seating for a large group! I loved the butter naans(softest ever) , paneer amritsari(starter)... The misses : The people dont know what they are serving....the menu lacks description where the names are not self explanatory! Subz biryani was a dissappointment for me..(no sabji!)
