Description: In the tradtion of posting in a rather wierd style, I have another review of more street food from Hyderabad. The place: A Tiffin Centre at Aghapura, Nampally, Opposite Deccan College of Engineering and Technology. A 5 minute walk from the Hyderabad Railway station. The menu: Vada, Sambar Vada, Idli, Plain Dosa, Masala Dosa, Upma, Butter Masala Dosa, Butter Upma Masala Dosa, Mysore Bajji and Onion Dosa. The cuisine: This is street food. The most expensive item on the menu is what I'm going to write about, the Butter Masala Upma Dosa is priced at 12 rupees. :-> The Sigfood review: I'm about to show you, one of the best dosa I have ever tasted. It was made at a tiffin center near my college in Hyderabad, India. It is a Butter-Masala-Upma-Onion-Dosa!! This is a special dosa 'coz it uses butter, rather than oil in cooking the dosa. Anyway, here they are! The four steps in perfect dosa-making! #1) Dosa dough is spread on the hot tava. And butter, YES! Amul Butter is used to cook it!
#2) Upma is spread on the dosa while it continues to cook. The upma is cooked with oil, not butter, so this continues to fuel the whole thing into fusing together.
#3) Aloo curry, a little groundnut(peanuts) chutney and onions are added in the middle of the dosa.
#4) The final product! The dosa is rolled up, and cut into two pieces and served with groudnut chutney garnished with a masala powder.
There you have it. The Butter-Masala-Upma-Onion Dosa. I'll bet you cannot eat more than one of this at one meal. It is heavy and it's just 12 rupees! :->
