Summary: The place where SigFood started in 1999
Getting there: Next to MIDC police station in Andheri
Don't Miss: Tandoori crab, Huge pomfret
Food Cost: 50-100
Description:
Gajalee (the Andheri branch) was where SigFood started out in 1999. There are two branches - one near the MIDC police station in Andheri (E), and the other near Shaan theatre and Hanuman Road in Vile Parle (E).
It is an old Malvani seafood place with good fresh seafood including crabs, kapri(pomfret), squid. Affordable and good thalis. Fried/grilled pomfret is a standard favourite. The Solkadhi here is a personal favourite and I have called it soul-curry at times.
There is supposedly a newer branch in Pheonix Mills, Lower Parel. This information is confirmation-pending.
