"DA VINCI"

| | | | |
Summary: Superlative Italian/Continental food
Description:

Wonderful place.

OUTSTANDING FOOD. We are talking veg here.

The mushroom starter was scintillating. Probably one of the best funghi you will get to eat.

These guys know how to make magic with Pasta. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection. The white sauce was magical. I personally summoned the chef to shake hands with him.

Their pizza was incredible. The pizza chef from trattoria should take lessons from these guys.

The waiting staff are pleasant and go about doing their work with a smile.

They have an amazing range of continental desserts. Do try the veg brownie.

Didnt try their drinks. But I am told that their drinks offerings is a formidable list.

Lacking points:

We went on a weekday at 11 pm. There was zero crowd. That does not spell good for a place like this. Hope these guys dont shut down the place.

Do not go to Da Vinci wearing knee-length shorts (like I did) The mosquitoes feast on your calf muscles and ankles.

The Ambience is tooo dimly lit to the point of making you feel insecure.

Ratings:
===============
Food - 10/10
Ambience - 5/10
Service - 8/10
VFM quotient - 7/10.

Will visit this place again and again (provided they dont shut shop soon) and strongly recommend this place for conti veg food.

Banana Bar

Summary: Lounge Bar with Karoake
Description:

A place to lounge around till the music starts getting louder & the crowd younger after 9.

Tangy Tamarind

| | | | | |
Summary: Quiet Restaurant with Limited Multi Cuisine Menu
Description:

A quiet place on the 2nd floor with nice round tables that are not occupied most of the evenings. Visited it a couple of times. They have good crisp nachos & garlic bread with cheese. Pasta was decent but can be improved upon. However the one in white sauce was much better. The drinks OK priced but no accompaniments so you have to order.

The mughlai/indian mini meal is sufficient for 1 person since it comes with parathas.

All in all a convenient place to go with a couple of business associates or a loved one, where the idea is to spend time & not gorge.

The service is good & they let you drink in peace if you tell them.

Olive

Summary: Expensive place with OK food
Description:

An expensive restaurant in the tony Union Park neighborhood of Khar. Serves indian version of mediterranean food. Has an extensive list of (expensive) cocktails and liquors. Serves brunch on Sunday.

The food is not great, considering the price tag. The waiters can be snobbish as is the clientele (mostly foreigners, wannabe page-3 crowd, and Bollywood D-listers).

Yoko Sizzlers

| | | | |
Summary: A very old sizzlers chain
Description:

Yoko is a old sizzlers chain with branches in Andheri and Khar. We have had diametrically opposite experiences here as far as taste is concerned, though stuff is usually decent. The chicken sizzler in oyster sauce is good.
