Cafe Sunrise
Cafe Sunrise was a favourite brekkie destination in the late 90's for Pune's IT workers. Then suddenly after a month's gap there was a Dosa Diner there. We were all horified and sad. However Sunrise is now back - the hardcore people didn't patronize DD I guess. I was there again recently and the old waiters, torn 5 rupee notes (the usual tip trick), omelettes and burjis are all back. I was relieved.
Sunrise attempts to be an arty Irani with paintings from budding artists adorning the wall. Otherwise the wooden furniture is all as expected. The snacks are very good. The chai, pav, omelette/burji routine is well set. The 'Fried eggs with chips' is a different dish w.r.t. other Iranis.
