Burger King

| | | | | |
Summary: Pune's most famous Burger joint
Description:

Pune's most famous Burger joint is now an undisputed champ since the nearby Jaws closed down a few years ago. Burger King shifts locations between it's corner first floor place and the neighbouring shed often. It is extremely popular with the college crowd and is very crowded in the evening and on sporting event days.

Burgers are from 15 to about 40 ranging from the chicken burger, mutton roll, sausage surprise and the ever popular king burger which is huge. Wash it down with colas and you have a full meal college-style.

Dorabjees

Summary: Real Parsi food in Camp
Description:

Sachapir Street (I think) should be called 'West Street'. Dorabjee's restaurant is in the middle near Technical Book Shop.

The food is good Parsi food and good biryanis. Try any of the usual Parsi items. Good value for money.

Summary: Cheap Watering hole on high flying main street
Description:

On the affluent Main Street shopping district of Pune lies this superb cheap watering hole which still has decent draught beer. The snacks are ok. The environment is dingy and smoky as it should be in such a gem of a place.

Eddie's Kitchen

Summary: This place is like the 5 Spice of Pune
Description:

This small chinese grub joint hidden away behind main street is quite hard to find but it is worth it. From Westend go towards Sasoon. After the Lal Deval petrol pump (opposite B.J.grounds) turn in left. Keep a watch on the left after about a 5 mins. walk.

The seating is limited and cramped on two floors. But otherwise it is an excellent place for families and friends. The food portions are massive and prices are affordable. You might have to wait to sit on weekends.

The spare ribs available sparsely are heavenly. The smoked beef on lettuce is a hot favourite amongst regulars. Don't miss these when available. Otherwise the usual chinese dishes are well made, tasty, and filling.

Marzorin

Summary: An institution for sandwiches in Pune
Description:

If there is an institution for eating in Pune, it has to be Marz-o-rin. It is a small (now renovated and spanning a huge second floor) quick sandwich pick-up kind of place on Main Street in Pune Cantonment.

Their veg. chutney sandwiches, all manner of rolls, burgers, shakes are extremely familiar to most Punekars. Surely kicks 's butt. If you are passing by anywhere near Pune station, take a detour and get here.

Touche - The Place

| | | | | | |
Summary: Nostalgic sizzler joint
Description:

I cannot give an unbiased view of this place. I practically grew up here in high school and college. We used to be here ever Saturday. Hence SNCGang (Saturday Night Club) - which is where SigFood is hosted.

It is right next to Westend cinema on the east end of Main Street. Very easy to get there.

The steaks and chicken sizzlers here are usually very good. So is the Cordon bleu, Mixed grill special, Pork chops (if correctly ordered). They usually have the Goan desert bebinca too. Garlic Chicken/Mushroom as starters is a favourite.
