Veena stores
Submitted by sowmyaraghavan on Sat, 05/01/2008 - 18:52. Bangalore | Coffee Shopman!! every time i think of this place theres some kinda rush that goes through me....
trust me.. this place is a must go for anybody within or outside the city....
well.. i ve been going to this place like even before dinosaurs existed( for the ones who dint get... well its a joke)... but seriously its the best in the business.
this place is basically a small shady shop... but it has the most brilliant steaming idilis i have ever eaten...
no tables no chairs no nothing... but who cares when food tastes that gooood!!!
the perfect time to go is early morning...ask for idilis, vada and a kuppa filter coffee and its more than heaven...
the best part bout the place is that eating at this place gives a typical Bangalore feel to it... its priceless i tell ya.. and the name is quite funky too..
well on a Sunday morning at veena stores you'll find yourself in the midst this huge crowd eating only idilis and to be a part of that is definitely something..
cheers!!

Kolhapur | Bar | Coffee Shop | Disc | Pub | Restaurant | Kolhapuri | Chinese | Continental | Indian | Maharashtrian | Mughlai | PunjabiOne of the better hotels in Kolhapur but now seems to be going down in service levels and mostly living off the name it's created.
It has a couple of restaurants, a Pub/Bar, a Coffee Shop + Swimming Pool area and a discotheque.
Stayed there for 2 days but only had the breakfast buffet at the Coffee Shop which was just ok, decent food to start off your day but nothing to write home about.
Room service was quick and efficient but the air conditioning was poor. Everything else was at acceptable levels.
Well with the room rates around those of a budget hotel in Bombay, it's a pretty decent deal but most people I spoke to suggested Hotel Pearl as the better and cheaper alternative.
Brahmin's
Submitted by bvs on Wed, 04/04/2007 - 16:57. Bangalore | Coffee Shop | South Indian | AffordableThe famous Brahmins Coffee Bar.
Go there for Idly - Vada Chutney and coffee. They serve Khara Bath and the other sweet Bath also. Idly & Vada & Coffee are great. I like the Chutney at SLV better.
They are closed during lunch hours. Closed during 11:30 AM - 2:25 PM

Submitted by gogojd on Thu, 01/03/2007 - 21:20. Pune | Coffee Shop | CheapmaxDurga is the place where one should definitely visit once and always. I have drank the most wonderful coffee ever over there. The price of 200ml glass for coffee is only 8/-. (really unbelievable). The place is hygenic and clean, but, the only part is that there is no much place to sit. So just go have a cup and stand anywhere u like for the sip of the coffee. Theres lot of rush, i thought thought for a while that i was standing in crowd for taking glass of sugarcane juice.
But when i tasted the coffee i had no words to say.
So visit the place definitely and reply your reviews depending on it.

Bangalore | Koramangala | Cafe | Coffee Shop | American | Continental | Italian | Mediterranean | Affordable | Must VisitI discovered this place by pure luck.... must saying lady luck was similing on me. The waffles with Maple Syrup are YUUUMM! So are the Omlettes.. they have a Spinach and Mushroom Omlette and Cheese and Mushroom Omlette. Amazing muffins. The Breakfast Combos are great.
They serve huge mugs of coffee with every breakfast combo... beats a CCD coffee anyday :)
They also have an unbelieveable collection of comic books. Some of them are really old editions..found a lot Tintin books that I leafed through. Great place to spend a Sunday morning.
A must visit place. They are closed on Monday though
Here's a link to the poster of this place.. the address and directions :)

Submitted by gaurav on Tue, 19/12/2006 - 17:50. Mumbai | Parel | Coffee Shop | American | Indian | Italian | Mediterranean | Open 24 hours | Rich and FamousThe best 5 star coffee shop in the city as of now. Expansive menu with multiple options across the cuisine lines.
Anyway we got this veggie Kebab platter thing which is paneer, bread, tikkaish sauce, small cups of biryani, salan and raita. Fantastic little thing this. Great taste, for the accompaniements, the paneer itself was soft, velvety, very good.
Mushroom Wrap, not very interesting, it was tasty but just no real love, it came with a tomato sauce which didnt help it much.
Lasagna, not bad actually, tasty, tangy, enough veggies but the pasta layers itself were very tasty. Nice stuff.
The drinks were terrible. The Lime soda was ok, the bloody mary served with no ice, tasted below par, the Margarita was just plain BAD. they dont know how to make drinks over at ITC.
Service itself was slow, menus took a while, drinks too longer, the chaps were polite and nodded, but didnt understand much it seems.
So it is a great place for food but drinks are terrible as is the service as is the location.
Our meal cost us around 2900 (2 cocktails, one soft drink, 3 entrees)
Pop Tate's
Submitted by solzaire on Sun, 07/08/2005 - 13:41. Mumbai | Andheri | Malad | Mulund | Bar | Coffee Shop | Restaurant | Snack Joint | American | Continental | MexicanPop Tate's is an American style restaurant in R-Mall. They serves Pizzas, Pastas, some mexican food, burgers, cocktails, beer. All in all a nice place with a lot of choice. The place is surprisingly big despite appearances. They have about 20 tables, slightly close together, but no matter. The place is apt for a bite or drink before the multiplex movie or in between shopping.
The starters and pastas are really good. The pasta is slightly too soft and not crunchy enough, but their sauces and gravies make up. Maybe not gourmet stuff, but value for money - large portion of a good non-veg pasta and garlic bread for 125/-. Cocktails are good. Indicative price is 110 for a Long Island Ice Tea. There is decent college classics or new pop like music blaring away and 3 TVs play music or sports. The ventilation is slightly non-smoker repelling. The service is decent. There is a large yuppie college going crowd in gangs sipping away draught beer which, incidentally, is flat and sad to be avoided even if it is given to you for free.

Eat Street has the following food counters:
A Minverva Coffee Shoppe: Serves south indian tiffins like dosa's, idli's etc. They also serve some hot(and fresh) jalebi's. No maincourse items though. Nothing like andhra meals or anything.
Chaat Corner: I love the Dahi poori here. The other chaat's are good too, I hear. I've tried the Samosa Ragada and Dahi Poori on many occasions. I have here a picture of Jalebi's and Dahi Papdi(or something).
In the bottom left, you see Chicken Manchurian style. Not very pricey at 65 rupees. The one time I tried it, it had a peppery taste to it. Notice the wooden plate on which the dahi-chaat is served on? Don't forget the pomegranate seeds.
This is half the spread at the chaat counter. Click for a bigger view.
Chinese: This counter serves up around 8 different starts in non-vegetarian and 6 in vegetarian. It has set chinese meal package's in both veg and non-veg and offers a choice of veg fried rice/veg noodles with a curry, dry item/salad. Softdrinks are avaliable at all the counters btw.
Here's an example. That's veg fried rice, a chicken curry and a salad. The other plate is a chicken dry item.
Wah! Hyderabad: This is the biryani/mughlai counter. My friends vouch for me when I say that the veggie biryani is good here. The chicken biryani is ok-okish but the mutton biryani rocks! One can also get combo's meals with dishes like afghani chicken and naan/roti. Set meals are avaliable in a decent variety. Separate starters/dry items are also avaliable. Good stuff, trustable. Here's a pic of the biryani:
I'm sorry for the half eaten cheese garlic bread piece in the right side. Click to take a look at the menu in the background.
Icecream Shack: Softies, cones and cups. Various flavours. I've tried Honey-Raisin, Blackcurrant, Apricot, etc. Not pricey at all. And yet, has quite a variety. Here's a pic of pistachio and vanilla-raspberry.
Cafe Coffee Day: Like any other Coffee Day.
Just Fries: Serves different kinds of french fries. They also serve Moutain dew.
Corn Club: All veggie joint. Serves excellent baked corn with cheese and babycorn french fries.
Pizza Hut: Although this joint doesn't have ALL the items shown on a regular Pizza Hut menu, it is decent. They serve only small pizza's and have very little variety i.e. 2-3 in each variety with Cheese Garlic Bread.
Extra's:
Shwarma Rolls: Didn't taste very good the last time I tried it. But it looked rather nice. Here's a pic.
Cup corn: Three kinds; Butter, Pepper or Masala. 25 rs a cup. Steamed corn in a cup. I love it.
Chocolate Hut: Has a vareity of chocolates to try out.
Tibb's FrankieTM Stand: The original Bombay FrankieTM in Hyderabad. Has Chicken Tikka, Tawa Chicken, Mutton and Chicken Chettinad frankies in the non-veg and Paneer, Veggie etc frankies too. Also offers grilled sandwiches. Max price of 30 rs. Not particularly filling, but very nice.
The good part about this place is that it's always expanding. They're planning to add more stalls to it.
FYI, There is a loo present after the kid's playground. Also, one can take the barge or the speedboat and take a tour of the lake. The landing is right off the main eating place.
All in all, I'd brand this as a family place. It's timings are: 11:30 am to 10:30 pm.
