Karavalli - Taj Gateway

| | | | | | |
Summary: Good Malabar food - Pricey
Description:

Go there if you are a seafood fanatic, particularly Malabar style of cooking. This is what you need to order

- Sea food platter. Just keeps coming
- Go ahead and order a mix of appams, idiappams and for sides order just about anything with seafood.. particularly their lobsters.

Drinks are standard or imported Vodka / Whiskey / Gin / Wine etc. So nothing specific to write about.

For a team of 4 to 5 people with 2 drinks + starter + maincourse + desserts will put you back by 10K to 12K bucks.

Koyla

| | | | | | |
Summary: Yet another multi cuisine restaurant
Description:

After the Deep Purple show (amazingly in a school ground that echoed like a haunted house) moi & wife landed up here in search for something to fill our stomach. Ordered some chappathis, Egg curry and malai kofta. The waiter told us as a matter of fact that if you want it quick please order anything with paneer!!! We said we will wait for the malai kofta.

The egg curry and the chappthi came in fast. The curry was standard (i saw the same one being passed on as mix veg curry on the next table) with 2 boiled eggs thrown in. Wife waiting for Malai Kofta.. after 10mins by which the Chappathis had gone cold (damn the Bangalore weather these days... cant sit in the open without food going cold on you.. otherwise it is brilliant) the malai kofta came, which did not look the way malai kofta should (have you seen anything in dark grey??)

Overall go there if you dont find anything and want to fill your stomach.

Windsor Pub

| | | | | | |
Summary: Fantastic beer & fish / pork / beef place
Description:

Getting there : Take the road opposite to Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan on the Millers road and you will find this place on your right hand side.

This is a awesome beer only joint that serves a medley of food. But best known for their fish / pork / beef dishes. Have the above as fries for starters and as curries for main course with dosa / kerala parotha / appams.

The music is doors / pink floyd / CCR.. .catch the drift??? Frequented by college crowd and the offices on Cunnigham road. Can seat about 30 people... so can be difficult to find a place if you are late. If you dont like smoky joints.. this place can get a bit painful.

Perhaps one of the very few places like this on this part of the town.
